In order to establish connections to a remote server using a MAC computer, you will need to use Terminal.
Terminal comes pre-installed with your operating system.
To open terminal click the Finder icon.
Next click Applications, and then Utilities.
Double click Terminal to launch the console.
Connecting with Terminal
In this lesson we will connect to our Linode virtual server using Terminal.
First, login to your Linode.com hosting account. Locate and copy the IP address associate with the “MyLinode” server.
We will need to use the IP address to connect. Note that your IP will be different from mine.
