This course offers a complete guide to mastering digital photography using a DSLR camera. We start right from the basics with an overview of camera types, how they work, lens options and optical vs. digital zooming.
We then progress into one of the most important facets of digital photography, the Exposure Triangle. Students learn to master manual controls on their DSLR to capture breath-taking photographs in even the worse lighting conditions. We explore aperture, f-stops, image sensors, ISO sensitivity, Shutter speed and several other exposure settings.
Once students have mastered the art of capturing light, we take a look at different shooting modes, shutter release modes, image quality settings, and manual focusing techniques.
Students also learn to work with exposure and built-in flash compensation settings to navigate around less than optimal lighting conditions. We provide live demonstrations on setting custom white balance adjustments using grey-cards. Auto Exposure bracketing for HDR compositions is also introduced.
Beyond the technical aspects of operating a DSLR, we provide an in-depth section on composition techniques for almost all types of photography, including the rule of thirds, leading lines, framing, angles and in-studio portrait shots.
After the Photography modules, this course offers a comprehensive guide to editing photos using Adobe Photoshop. Students will learn to import their images into Photoshop and optimize various aspects of their image using advanced masking techniques and color adjustment functions.
